Many hardware repairs can be covered free of charge under your complementary Apple limited warranty during the first year.
For devices purchased in Australia, your consumer law rights cannot be excluded and will cover Mac computers for at least two additional years (36 months total).
Accidental damage can be covered under an AppleCare+ policy, which you can register on your device during the first month after purchase. You can purchase AppleCare+ on your device in System Settings > Coverage or online here.
Note that software fixes are not covered under warranty and may incur a charge.

Find My Mac
Before submitting your Mac for service, Find My Mac and iCloud must be removed from the device before any service can be performed.
Find My Mac is a security feature which allows you to track your device if it is lost or stolen. When Find My Mac activated, someone needs your Apple ID and password to erase, reactivate or use your device.
If Find My Mac is disabled, your device can no longer be located, placed in Lost Mode, or remotely erased using icloud.com/find or the Find My iPhone iOS app.

Backing up
It is strongly recommended that you maintain regular backups of your Mac to an external hard drive using the built in Time Machine software.
Before submitting your device in for service, please ensure your backups are complete and up to date.
In the event that you are unable to backup your Mac, we do offer a backup and restore service, assuming that your data is accessible at drop off.

Repairs
Bring us your unwell Mac, in- or out-of-warranty, and we'll diagnose it for you and prepare you a quote of the repair cost. If the repair is coverable under warranty or consumer law, we will proceed to repair the device immediately so you can have it back in a day or two.
Please Note: Hardware diagnosis may incur a $95 fee for computers out-of-warranty.
We pride ourselves on our repair quality and also speed of turn around, so that you have your computer back sooner. All repairs, in- or out-of-warranty, are covered by a 180 day (repeat service) warranty. In-warranty Mac repairs are covered by Apple's consumer law repeat service coverage for a total of 36 months.
Maintenance
We recommend this service for every Mac once every 12 to 18 months. It costs $120 and it can often be completed the same day.
